BELFAST'S
STRENGTH
QUARTER

Welcome the Belfast's Lifting Club.

OUR PURPOSE

Strength Quarter is a community-run, Lifting Club dedicated to improving the physical and mental wellbeing of our members through structured, coach-led strength training.

Stronger For Life

Our mission is to make the lifelong benefits of strength training accessible, safe, and enjoyable for adults of all backgrounds and abilities — especially those who’ve struggled to find their place in traditional gyms. Whether you’re rebuilding confidence, returning to training, or simply starting out, we’re here to guide and support you.

Our Purpose

We believe strength is for everyone — not just elite athletes. Our club exists to: • Promote regular participation in amateur strength sports • Provide structured, progressive training in a small-group setting • Foster community, camaraderie, and long-term wellbeing • Encourage independence and self-coaching skills through education • All proceeds are reinvested into improving the club for its members.

HOW IT WORKS

Our sessions take place in a clean, quiet training space in Belfast city centre. Each member follows a personalised strength programme, guided by experienced coaches who ensure technique, safety, and steady progress.

Our Lifting Club

We remove the distractions and pressure of commercial gyms — no queues, no waiting for equipment, and no guesswork. Just effective training in a focused, respectful environment.

City Centre Gym

Our members train in a calm, accessible space with easy parking and city-centre access. We operate on a not-for-profit basis with the support of our coaching volunteers and founding member, former Ireland #1 Powerlifter Rory Girvan.

Reserved Equipment

Get the most out of each session with your own equipment. No queues and none of the waiting times faced when sharing. Rest assured you'll be training in a clean, safe environment where you'll be made to feel comfortable from your first visit.

Our Partners

We are proud to be partnered with HENCH, Belfast’s pioneering strength gym, who provide volunteer coaching support, professional development, and shared access to facilities to help our members thrive.
